Company Image: The Natural Way

Under this banner, cosmetican Charlotte Meentzen founded the »Institute for Natural Cosmetics« in Dresden in 1930. The same year, together with her sister Gertrude Seltmann-Meentzen, she started a company under the name »Charlotte Meentzen, Heilkräuter Kosmetik« (Active Herbal Beauty). They determined that the company should produce and sell beauty products based on natural plant extracts.

The Meentzen sisters had been well schooled in the beneficial effects of herbs and plants from an early age by their mother, a woman with a profound understanding of the power of natural plants and herbs.

This knowledge and experience helped Charlotte Meentzen to become one of the first cosmeticians in Germany to use natural plant extracts for cosmetic purposes and for personal skincare. This revolutionized the entire concept of beauty care, as it was known then.
